Ahead of the new school year, Ecobank Nigeria has encouraged the use of its rapid transfer system needed to ensure easier transfer of funds by parents and guardians for the payment of school fees.
The product is available to both customers and non-customers and facilitates easy transfer and access to funds
across the country as well as enabling money transfers to and from any of the 30 African countries. Head, Cards and eProduct of the bank, Mike Ogbalu, observed that the Rapid Transfer is a ‘send and receive’ money transfer product
available in all Ecobank branches in Nigeria. “It is aimed at facilitating easy transfer and access to funds across the nation and in all countries where Ecobank is represented,” he said.
The bank in another development said it is upgrading its technology and telecommunications system with the introduction of a new core banking application, Flexcube and a private telecommunications infrastructure, MPLS. Flexcube is Oracle Corporation’s leading banking automation software that enables global financial institutions to service customers more effectively. The telecommunications system, MPLS, provides one of the largest private network infrastructure in Africa, covering Ecobank’s 820 offices and 800 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in 35 countries.
